1. Sigma8634和Sigma8635的區(qū)別：
其實(shí)8634和8635的區(qū)別很小，只是在色差/S-端子的輸出上有無Macrovision保護(hù)的區(qū)別。用這兩款芯片設(shè)計(jì)的高清機(jī)對(duì)高清用戶而言不會(huì)受到什么影響。

2. Sigma8634/Sigma8635對(duì)HDMI1.3的支持：
8634/8635只能支持HDMI 1.3的音頻部分（DTS-HD，Dolby TrueHD等），對(duì)HDMI 1.3的36位色深（R[12]+G[12]+B[12]）不能支持，因?yàn)?634/8635只能支持24位的色深（R[8]+G[8]+B[8]），相當(dāng)于HDMI 1.1/1.2。
For applications requiring HDMI v1.3 support, an external HDMI v1.3transmitter chip, such as the Silicon Image Sil9034 or Sil9134, may beinterfaced to SMP8634. Using the Sil9134 enables sending DTS-HD andDolby trueHD compressed audio bitstreams over HDMI. HDMI v1.3deep-color (10- or 12-bit video data) cannot be supported using SMP8634.
3. 是否掛上BD/HD DVD光驅(qū)就變成BD/HD機(jī)器了？
1）從內(nèi)存方面考慮：
對(duì)BD-ROM而言，牽扯到如下因素：
- BD-J graphics (read+write)
- Java bytecode interpreter code and data cache misses
- Presentation graphics (PG) rendering
- Interactive graphics (IG) rendering
- PG decoded object buffer
- Dripfeed docode
對(duì)HD-DVD而言，牽扯到如下因素
- HD-DVD cursor, graphics, subpicture and secondary video rendering.
另外，兩者還都牽扯到畫中畫（PIP）功能。
這些都要使用256MB基本內(nèi)存以上的內(nèi)存，建議的配置：Bank0 = 64MB， Bank1=256MB，所以至少320MB內(nèi)存。所以高清機(jī)如果只配256MB內(nèi)存，不論固件怎么升級(jí)，也不可能變成BD/HD DVD機(jī)器。
2）從驅(qū)動(dòng)方面考慮：
開發(fā)高清機(jī)和BD/HD用的SDK是完全不同的2套SDK，而Sigma designs只能提供到SDK一級(jí)，廠家或方案商把2套SDK合并起來，難度可想而知。
3）從版權(quán)方面考慮：
因?yàn)榇蠹叶季邆溥@方面的知識(shí)或常識(shí)，其門檻之高可想而知。
綜合以上3方面，把高清機(jī)升級(jí)為BD/HD DVD機(jī)器談何容易。
