The DRV8874 is an integrated motor driver with NchannelH-bridge, charge pump, current sensing andproportional output, current regulation, and protectioncircuitry. The charge pump improves efficiency bysupporting N-channel MOSFET half bridges and100% duty cycle driving. The family of devices comein pin-to-pin RDS(on) variants to support different loadswith minimal design changes.
An internal current mirror architecture on the IPROPIpin implements current sensing and regulation. Thiseliminates the need for a large power shunt resistor,saving board area and reducing system cost. TheIPROPI current-sense output allows a microcontrollerto detect motor stall or changes in load conditions.
Using the external voltage reference pin, VREF,these devices can regulate the motor current duringstart-up and high-load events without interaction froma microcontroller.A low-power sleep mode achieves ultra-low quiescentcurrent draw by shutting down most of the internalcircuitry. Internal protection features include supplyundervoltage lockout, charge pump undervoltage,output overcurrent, and device overtemperature.Fault conditions are indicated on nFAULT.

評(píng)估模塊DRV8876x/74xEVM
The DRV8876x/74xEVM is a complete solution for evaluating the DRV8876/74x H-bridge motor drivers. Itincludes an MSP430™ microcontroller that is preprogrammed to take input from two dedicated analogpotentiometers for PWM speed control of one or two brushed DC motors. The jumper on the PMODE pinallows the user to select from the input modes of PH/EN (GND), PWM (3.3 V), and independent halfbridgecontrol (Hi-Z). Power can be provided externally up to 37 V through the power header. To expand beyond the included firmware capability, the MSP430 MCU can be reprogrammed through the eZ-FETemulation circuit found in newer MSP430 Launchpads. We recommend the http://www.ti.com/tool/MSPEXP430FR5969.
Note that a four pin angled male header is required and must be soldered to J21 of this Launchpad from V+ pin to GND pin. We recommend a pin header with pin dimensions like 850-10-050-20-001000. The U1 MCU must be removed from the Launchpad.
The DRV8874 evaluation module (EVM) allows easy evaluation of the DRV8874 device.The DRV8874 device is an integrated H-bridge driver for brushed DC and solenoid applications. The evaluation module allows the device to be configured for PWM, phase/enable, or independent half-bridge control modes. An MSP430FR2100 on the board provides PWM signals to the input pins of the DRV8874EVM. The duty cycles of the PWM signals are set by potentiometers on the board.
